Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is CBD?

CBD (also known as cannabidiol) is one of many cannabinoids that exists in nature and is completely unique to the hemp plant. Along with THC, the cannabinoid is one of the most well-known and studied compounds, though, there’s a fundamental difference between the two: CBD is mainly derived from the hemp plant and non-psychoactive.

  • How can hemp-derived CBD oil promote women’s health?

The endocannabinoid system (ECS) is tasked with maintaining equilibrium in the internal environment in the body, which in turn plays a role in modulating various functions and processes. This system is made up of CB (cannabinoid) receptors, many of which are located in the immune system, nervous system, and also the all throughout the female reproductive system These CB receptors bind to receptor sites within the ECS to help the body maintain homeostasis or “balance”. When out of balance (ECS deficiency), endocannabinoid levels in the body are too low and creates an environment where a number of issues can occur. This includes pain, insomnia, hormonal imbalances, inflammation, mood disorders, and even more severe conditions. Luckily, CBD can work with our body's natural endocannabinoid system to promote wellness and bring back equilibrium.

  • Like THC, will CBD make me feel high?

No. The compound CBD is completely non-psychoactive, which means you will not feel the high normally associated with marijuana’s THC. Though closely related to CBD, THC is a fundamentally different compound found in the cannabis plant responsible for causing a high. On the contrary, CBD is non-psychoactive and therefore, will not cause a “high” feeling.

  • How much CBD should I take?

CBD is a personal experience. Dosage for CBD typically depends on a few factors including your body type, health condition, and individual body chemistry. Because everyone is different, everyone will metabolize CBD differently, however, the standard starting dose is 5 milligrams. Like with anything, we recommend that you start small and adjust accordingly until you find the desired results that best works for you and also be sure to consult with your primary healthcare provider before using CBD.

  • Will CBD interfere with medications that I take?

Mixing different hemp-based products should be fine as long as you are conscious of how much hemp you are consuming. Dosing is important, regardless of whether you combine different hemp products or prefer sticking to just one. Knowing how much hemp - or any cannabinoid in the cannabis plant - you are consuming is important, which is why products are labeled with specific hemp concentrations to help you dose appropriately. Hemp-derived CBD interactions with medication are not common and typically only happen when hemp-derived CBD oil is used in extremely high doses. That said, one of the interactions that CBD may have with prescribed medication is inhibiting the enzyme system in the cytochrome P-450, which is a group of enzymes found in the liver and involved in breaking down many medications. As such, the way that the body processes medications that are metabolized by these enzymes can be affected. If you are uncertain about the medications you are taking, we encourage you to speak with your physician about incorporating hemp-derived CBD products.

  • What is CBD used for?

People are finding relief through CBD in various different ways, each one unique to the consumer. Many choose to turn to CBD for inflammation, anxiety, chronic pain, or being used as a supportive supplement within their generalized health and wellness routines. The scientific benefits surrounding CBD are still being researched, though we are seeing positive potential across various types of complications and ailments.

  • Is CBD legal in all 50 states?

Yes. The 2018 Farm Bill legalized the cultivation of hemp plants containing less than 0.3% THC and varying amounts of CBD. Our products strictly contain trace amounts of THC, adhering to industry and legal standards.

  • How long does CBD stay in your system?

Every person is different: factors like weight, frequency of consumption, metabolism, and method of consumption all play a role. Typically, CBD will stay in your system anywhere from 4-6 hours, though this can differ significantly and will depend on the bioavailability of your CBD product.

  • Will CBD make me fail a drug test?

These tests are looking for illicit substances, such as THC. CBD is a non-psychoactive compound derived from the hemp plant and will not result in a failed test unless the CBD product you're consuming contains more than the mandated 0.3% THC.A small percentageof failed drug tests were found for cannabis use in 2018, which would essentially mean that the consuming CBD will have little to no effect on a drug test. Ultimately, this will mainly depend on a few main factors: the type of CBD product, how much CBD is consumed, and how your body metabolizes CBD. Other contributing factors also include whether or not that person consumes high THC products and the fact that companies are still utilizing outdated analytical methods which are causing inaccurate drug test results. However, if you are concerned, always purchase a broad spectrum product which is THC free and consult your primary doctor.

  • How does CBD make you feel?

The effects of CBD vary from person to person, but you’re likely to experience a lift in emotions and general sense of health and wellbeing. Many report mental clarity, increased relaxation, and better pain regulation, as well. Depending on the CBD product and delivery method, between a few minutes or hours the initial effects of CBD will subside, but with consistent consumption, results will be, too. CBD is designed to be taken consistently to help establish balance within the body; after a routine is established, these feelings can become your new normal.

  • Is Hemp oil the same as CBD oil?

No. CBD oil is made from the flowers, stalks, and leaves of the cannabis plant, while hemp oil is extracted from the seeds of the plant. The flowers, stalks, and leaves tend to have a higher concentration of CBD and other cannabinoids than the seeds do; therefore, the two oils differ in terms of profile and potency.

  • What does CBD do for skin?

CBD promotes skin nourishment to get it looking brighter, more supple, fresher, and revitalized. Through its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant attributes, CBD can help reduce redness and painful discomfort in the skin, while also assisting with hydration.

  • Is CBD good for skincare?

Yes, CBD has shown to promote healthy skincare by working to counteract common skin issues like acne, rosacea, dry skin and many more. To experience the best results, purchase skincare products that include dwell time: thick lotions, serums, or balms that can be placed onto the skin in concentrated amounts and soaked up into the epidermis over time, rather than instantly.

  • Can CBD absorb through the skin?

Yes! CBD does absorb through the skin, it just does so differently with topicals versus other products. While some products go through our dermis and into the bloodstream, CBD topicals work directly with cannabinoid receptors in the targeted area of pain. The body’s skin has very low permeability, prohibiting anything from trying to enter it; however, CBD, when applied liberally, can still be absorbed through pores to result in effects.
